"There
is one body and one spirit...there is one
Lord, one faith, one baptism, and one God
and Father of us all..." (Ephesians 4:4-6). |
|
 |
 |
"Accept
him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment
on disputable matters... Who are you to judge
someone else's servant? To his own master
he stands or falls... So then each of us will
give an account of himself to God ... So whatever
you believe about these things keep between
yourself and God." (Romans 14:1,
4, 12, 22). |
|
 |
 |
"...If
I hold in my mind not only all human knowledge
but also the very secrets of God, and if I
have the faith that can move mountains –
but have no love, I amount to nothing."
(1 Corinthians 13:2).

God
is the creator and ruler of the universe.
He has eternally existed in three persons:
the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
The three are co-equal and are one God. (Gen.
1:1, 26-27, 3:22; Isa. 44:6; Matt. 28:19;
Jn. 1:1; Acts 5:3-4; Titus 2:13). |
|
 |
 |
God
as Father reigns with providential care over
His universe, His creatures, and guides history
according to His appointed plan. He is all
powerful, all loving, and all wise. God is
the Father in truth to those who become children
of God through faith in Jesus Christ. (Gen.
1:1; Col. 1:15; 1 Tim. 1:17; Heb. 12:9; 1
Pet. 1:17). |
|
 |
 |
Jesus
Christ is the Son of God. He is co-equal with
the Father. Jesus lived a sinless life on
earth and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice
for the sins of all the people by dying on
the cross. He arose from the dead after three
days to prove His power over sin and death.
He ascended to heaven's glory and will return
again someday to earth to reign as King of
Kings and Lord of Lords. (Isa. 9:6; Matt.
1:22-23; 1 Cor. 15:3-4; Acts 1:8-11; Titus
2:13). |
|
 |
 |
The
Holy Spirit is the third person in the Trinity
and is co-equal with the Father and the Son.
He is present in the world to make men aware
of their sin and need for Jesus Christ. He
also lives in every Christian from the moment
of salvation. He provides the Christian with
power for living, understanding of spiritual
truth, and guidance in doing what is right.
He gives every believer a spiritual gift when
they are saved. As Christians we seek to live
under His control daily. (Jn. 14:16-17, 16:7-13;
Acts 1:8, 5:3-4; Eph. 1:13; Gal. 5:15; 1 Cor
2:12). |
|
 |
 |
The
Bible is God's word to us. Under the supernatural
guidance of the Holy Spirit, it was written
by human authors. It is the supreme source
of truth for Christian beliefs and living.
Because it is inspired by God, it is the truth
without any mixture of error. (Psa. 119:105;
Prov. 30:5; 2 Tim. 3:16; 2 Pet. 1:20-21). |
|
 |
 |
Man
is the supreme object of God's creation. People
are made in the image of God. This does not
mean that we look like God, but instead that
we have the ability to reflect His character
and that we are the only creatures on earth
who can have an eternal relationship with
God. Since Adam, all people have been marred
by an attitude of disobedience toward God
called sin. Sin separates people from God.
All people are under the judgment of God and
in need of the Savior, Jesus Christ. (Gen.
1:26-30; Psa. 51:5; Isa. 53:6; Rom. 1:19-32,
3:23; Eph. 2:1-22). |
|
 |
 |
Salvation
is God's free gift to us, but we must receive
it. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement
or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ
as God's offer of forgiveness can anyone be
saved from sin's penalty. When we turn from
our self-ruled life and turn to Jesus in faith,
we are saved. Eternal life begins the moment
a person receives Jesus Christ into his life
by faith. (Rom. 5:1, 6:23; Eph. 2:8-9; Jn.
1:12, 3:16; Gal. 3:26). |
|
 |
 |
Because
God gives us eternal life through Jesus Christ,
the true believer has salvation for eternity.
If you have been genuinely saved, you cannot
lose it. Salvation is maintained by the grace
and power of God, not by the self-effort of
the Christian. It is the grace and keeping
power of God that gives us this security.
(Jn. 5:24, 10:29; Rom. 8:31-39; 1 Jn. 1:9;
Eph. 1:13; 1 Pet. 1:3-5). |
|
 |
 |
Since
people are made in the image of God, we will
exist forever. We will either be eternally
separated from God by sin or eternally with
God through forgiveness and salvation. To
be eternally separated from God is to exist
in hell. To be united with Him is eternal
life in the Kingdom of Heaven. (Jn. 3:16,
5:11-13; Rom. 6:23; Rev. 20:15). |
|
 |
 |
The
Holy Spirit gives spiritual gifts to enable
the church to perform the works of the ministry.
We believe the "sign gifts" were
given for a specific time and purpose and
because the New Testament era has ceased to
operate in a way that is considered normative.
This does not mean God does not or will not
perform miracles at His appointed time. We
do not believe the sign gifts are operative
as they were in the days of Jesus and the
Apostles. (1 Cor. 13:8; 2 Tim. 4:20; Heb.
2:3-4). |
|
 |
 |
We
believe that one day Jesus will return for
His church in the event called the rapture
in which the church will be suddenly taken
from this world and brought into heaven with
Jesus. Following this event, there will be
seven years of tribulation in which God's
judgment will be unleashed upon the earth.
After seven years, Jesus will return to earth
with the saints of all ages, conquer evil,
and establish His kingdom for a thousand years
here on earth. (Dan 9; 1 Thess. 4:13-5:11;
2 Thess. 2; Rev. 19-20). |
