What is our purpose?

The AABC Missions Committee exists to coordinate and facilitate all aspects of missions ministries at AABC, seeking to challenge the church to recognize its vital role in the larger framework of God’s kingdom purposes worldwide. Our goal is to educate the church in the area of missions, steer the missions ministries of the church, and assist in the equipping and sending of both individual missionaries and missions teams from our church into this world.

What do we do?

There are four main areas within which the Missions Committee works. First, we work to develop the policies that help focus the missions effort at AABC. How do we determine which missionaries to support? How should support raising be handled for our missions teams? To which specific regions of the world should we focus our ministries? These are questions we seek to answer as we develop missions policy. Second, we plan and organize the annual Missions Conference to educate the church on missions, highlight upcoming missions activities, and present the annual missions budget for approval. Third, we serve as AABC’s representatives to the missionaries whom the church supports. We make sure that they are receiving the financial support to which we have committed, coordinate efforts to host those who are on home assignment, regularly pray for and communicate with them, and look for ways that we can provide outstanding “missionary care” to those serving in the field. Fourth, we help to find opportunities for those in our church to serve in the missions field. We support those who go out from among us through finances, prayer, promoting them to the church, equipping them, and assisting in logistics planning,

We’ll help you find opportunities to serve in missions and walk you through the application process for serving in AABC Missions ministries. Along with commissioning you, we also want to help in your preparations, as you develop a timeline, prepare a budget, raise support, and write support letters.
