AABC Merge Sunday
“Loneliness is the most universal source of human suffering”
–Henri Nouwen, Reaching Out
Genesis 2:18 reminds us that “It is not good for man to be alone.” Yet community isolation is an all too common experience today. Frantic schedules, the constant churn of moving and the elevation of efficiency over relationships have led to a lack of connection.
One of my greatest joys of worshipping at AABC is the life-changing experience of family connection. We are united in Christ. Consequently, I am known. I am accepted. I belong. Community connection is truly a blessing from the Giver of every good and perfect gift.
My hope is that all people experience it.
AABC Merge Sunday is how we want to share this gift—to foster community connection, to overcome the human suffering that is loneliness. On September 24, we have our first Merge Sunday! After our worship service, we will have a special church-wide session designed to encourage community connection. It will be a time of authentic testimonies, practical ways to connect and unifying, intercessory prayer. This will be followed by a church luncheon designed to give opportunities for community connection over a shared meal.
We look forward to seeing you there! And don’t forget to invite a friend.
