Happy Valentine's Day
Happy Valentine's Day! We celebrate love today, and let us remember God's love for us. John 15:13 says, "There is no greater love than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends." Jesus laid down his life for us, so that we might be reconciled to God. God's love for us is amazing! It's wide and long and high and deep! It's full and forever! Hooray! YAYAYAYAYAYAYAY! DO A HAPPY DANCE!
Responding to Christ's love for us, let us put on love (Colossians 3:14). Just as you put on your clothes, jewelry and makeup in the morning, remember to put on love. As we go to work, facilitate small groups, play sports, teach bible lessons, hang out with friends, play board games, bring up children, lead worship, etc., let us remember to love lest we become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal (1 Corinthians 13:1).
Remember love is patient and kind. Love doesn't envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude (1 Corinthians 13:4-5). Let us love each other like Christ has loved us. Let us be patient and kind toward others. Is it easy to love others? Sometimes. Is it hard to love others? Sometimes. But our call is clear. We are to love in all circumstances and situations. If you don't love, you don't know God. Because God is love (1 John 4:8).
Happy Valentine's Day!
